Semester Program Internships
Qualified juniors, seniors and postgraduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible for an integrated
12 semester hour program composed of 3 to 6 hours of course work, 3 to 6 hours of internship experience and 3
hours British Life and Culture. A wide variety of internship possibilities are available to suit the field of
study, background and interests of qualified students and are arranged on an individual basis. All internships
are non-paying positions. Students will spend approximately 3 to 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
and Friday) on a full or part-time work experience directed by host-organization supervisors in consultation
with I.E., the London Faculty and possibly your home campus department. Assessment will be determined in
consultation with all parties involved. Consult your campus director for full details on prerequisite courses,
departmental requirements, I.E. requirements and application procedures.
Summer Program Internships (Session I + Internship)
This combination of an internship and academic courses is designed to give students an understanding of British
life in general and of British and European practices, policies and trends in various aspects of government,
business, journalism and industry. All students will complete a three-week course in Session I in a related
area before being placed in the internship (working Monday through Friday) for the remaining 9 weeks. All
internships are non-paying positions. Every effort is made to place the students in an internship assignment
that suits their background and interests. Internship credit varies from institution to institution but is
usually between 3 to 6 semester hours. Junior or senior status and a minimum 3.0 GPA are required.
