Getting To The Flats

Getting to the flats is remarkably easy via the tube. The only real problem you will face is the occasional set of steps. If you have a large bag on rollers, you will need to carry it up/down the stairs. Most locations offer ramps, but not all.

Getting from Heathrow Airport to the flats

Baggage Claim/Customs
Before you pick-up your bags in baggage claim, go to the far end of the area and get a cart. You can use this cart to transport your bags through customs all the way to the Underground (the Tube). Customs seems to randomly search luggage, with most people simply passing through.

Money
Unless you are really on the ball, you just landed with no British currency to purchase a ticket. Not to worry. In the main lobby, just before the underground ramp are ATM machines where you can withdraw some pounds.

To get to Hogarth, Knaresborough or Hornton Street, proceed from baggage claim to the Underground (there are plenty of signs directing you). Purchase a ticket (about 2 pounds, You may want to purchase a carnet of 10 rides for 17 pounds). You need to insert your ticket in the gate to enter the Underground. The gate will open and your ticket will immediately come back.Take your ticket, you'll need it to get out. Get on the Piccadilly (Purple) line and ride it east.

For Hogarth and Knaresborough Streets, get off at the Earl's Court stop. Follow the signs to the Earl's Court street exit. Cross the street. Turn left (North) and walk about 30 feet to the corner. Turn right (East) and follow Hogarth street until you come to #40 Hogarth or continue to the end of the block for 6 Knaresborough.

For Hornton Street, get off at the Earl's Court stop. You need to change trains at Earl's Court. Follow the signs to the District (Green) line and the High Street Kensington stop (don't take the District line East to South Kensington or you will have a long walk!). Get off at the High Street Kensington stop. Follow the signs to the Kensington High street exit. Walk West (left) to the corner and cross High street.
